Agresso - Illegal Value for Department Error Project Master File

The symptoms of the problem

When opening any project in the Project Master File (PMF), users encounter the error message "Illegal value [xxx] for Department" where the value associated with the Project is specified where the brackets are indicated (see figure 1).

In addition to this error message, when a user attempts to select a valid Department value from the drop down menu in the Department field in the PMF, no Department values are available (figure 2).

Cause

The cause of this problem is that a change has been made in the Company Information screen, but when the administrative user saved, the value in the current period field in tab 3 – Setup was saved as 0 (figure 3).

Solution

1. In the affected client, click to expand the Agresso Common folder, then Fixed Registers, and double-click to open Company Information (figure 4) .

2. Have a user with system admin access set the current Period to a valid Period value and save (figure 5).
