Agresso - Report Engine 9 Installation

This information is for Smart Client Users that are connected locally - not via Citrix.

Please Note: If applicable, remove previous versions of the Report Engine

 

If you have a previous version of the Unit 4 Report Engine formally known as “Agresso Report Engine 8” you should uninstall that version of Report Engine before installing the new version. If you don’t have a previous version, you can skip this step.   

 

You can check if you have the old version of report engine installed you will see an Add-ins tab in Microsoft Excel with the add-in of “Agresso Excelerator”.

Ensure Microsoft Excel is closed. If you have multiple copies Excel open, ensure they are all closed before the next step.

To uninstall Report Engine, go to the Control Panel and Programs and Features find Agresso Report Engine 8 and select it to uninstall.




Installing Unit 4 Report Engine 9

Ensure Microsoft Excel is closed. If you have multiple copies Excel open, ensure they are all closed before the next step.

Go to the G drive and select the folder G:\Agresso\Report Engine\ReportEngine-9

Then double click to install Unit4 Report Engine 9.



Follow the installation prompts for the installation of the Unit 4 Report Engine.

 After installation is complete. Open Microsoft Excel. You should now have a new tab on the ribbon bar.



You now need to setup Excelerator to talk to our Agresso Production Environment. You will need to select the Login button on the “Unit4 Excelerator” ribbon bar.



After selecting login a Login window will appear. Select “More” at the bottom left corner of the window.

With the above Window open go to the G:\Agresso\Report Engine and select the file “Agresso Excelerator Plugin Server Locations” and double click on it to open it up.



Select and copy the Production URL to your clipboard.



Paste the URL you just copied to the URL window in the following screen shot.

To log in using your local Agresso Business World Login enter and select the following information:

  1. Enter your user name
  2. Client
  3. Agresso Business World Password for Local Login (remember your local password expires every 90 days)
  4. Agresso Authentication.

If you entered all information successfully you will be logged. There will NOT be any notice that you successfully logged into Agresso. However, if something did not work correctly you will get a window popup saying “Login Failed”.

Notes about Excelerator Postbacks

If you are using Excelerator only for doing Postbacks then there are only a few options on the Unit4 Excelerator Ribbon Bar that are needed.  Other items can be ignored.

You will need the Login button, Validate Button (if it was suggested you do validation process), and the Post button. The following screen shot shows you what is needed and what you should NOT use.
